He was the President of Columbia Bible College and Seminary when his wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease. People close to him advised him to arrange for institutionalization. <\/p>\n<p>He chose to resign in 2004 so that he could care for her. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianitytoday.com\/ct\/2004\/februaryweb-only\/2-9-11.0.html?start=1\">In his words<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>She had, after all, cared for me for almost four decades with marvelous devotion; now it was my turn. And such a partner she was!
