Last year Colorado Republicans passed a redistricting plan. Democrats of course immediately filed a suit (which they won) to prevent the plan from taking effect saying that the Colorado Supreme Court had redrawn the districts in 2002 and they couldn’t be redrawn again. <\/p>\n
Republicans have appealed. Today a federal appeals court rejected the appeal<\/a>. The ruling is stayed until the U.S. Supreme Court takes up the case. <\/p>\n Let’s hope they do. Redistricting is entirely a legislative process. The law does not provide for the courts to take over the process. This is another example of judicial activism.
