Appeasement

Last night in the Presidential debate John Kerry was asked what the biggest security threat is. He answered nuclear proliferation.

Yeah, that is a concern. His answer to get Iran to stop developing nuclear weapons? Give them nuclear fuel as long as they promise not to develop bombs with it and let inspectors in. What the hell?

UN inspectors didn’t work in Iraq, they didn’t work in Korea, and empty promises from mad Islamic clerics will surely keep the world safe.

Appeasement is not a security policy. It didn’t work for Rome. In fact, it got Rome sacked. It won’t work now either. Especially when appeasing an enemy involves giving them the tools to destroy us.

Poor misguided Jason. It is the right answer if Georgie says it but not if the next President of the U.S. John Kerry says it. Was it just me or did GWB look like a little boy looking over the counter for cookies behind the adult-size podium.

Dunno what Anonymous was talking about (don't you love those dumps by wimps who won't even identify themselves?). I nearly spewed my Diet Dr. Pepper when Kerry said we should give N.Korea fuel as a "test." Just like you'd give a child a loaded gun to quell its screaming and grasping for it. Sheesh! You know, Jase, those 14 years of U.N. sanctions, no fly zones, embargoes, and inspector trips really paid off in Iraq. I think we need to announce we won't "contemplate using nuclear" weapons to the world and keep going to the negotiating table with no negotiating position. Yeah. That'll work swimmingly.

The issue here is not what G.W. said. It's what Kerry said. He said he wants to give nuclear fuel to people who want to blow us up. Iran has not asked us for nuclear fuel because even they know the idea is preposterous. Yet Kerry is volunteering to give it to them. All he wants in return is an empty promise not to build nuclear weapons. Then he says that nuclear proliferation is the biggest threat to the U.S. Then why does Kerry want to help our enemies build nuclear weapons? That doesn't help us. That is the opposite of helping us. Appeasement doesn't work, and in this case it would lead to nuclear attack while Kerry moves for unilateral disarmament. A vote for Kerry is a vote for Iranian nukes.
